Besides making paper, I spend time die cutting, gluing, labelling, dipping and packaging.

About Me

I AM The Paper Fifrildi

Seventeen years ago I started using a paper making kit that we found in the back of the closet. I didn't know what I was going to do after leaving school. The Universe had my back and showed me how to use my expressions authentically.

Since then I hurry for slurry and love the process of putting my fingers into the vat to create something different each and every time. It's a very messy  and wet process. Bare feet are necessary, So is rolling up your pants. I always wear my English T-shirt from 2010 which has this stamped on the back.

I'm only here for the wine!

My Medium

I make paper using a traditional 3-person team. First I sort previously used office paper, tissue paper, or construction paper by colour. Then I shred the paper if needed.

When I make paper I choose a main colour as the base.

I also choose contrast colours. The shredded paper is placed in a blender with water to make slurry. Nothing else is added. I pour the slurry into pails and then mix it with water in the vat.

I am the "vat person" and make up to 36 sheets with the assistance of a "coucher" and "stacker."
